A GREEN CHRISTMAS

DES ASTUCES POUR UN NOËL ÉCOLO

TIPS FOR A GREEN CHRISTMAS

A Green Christmas

Organic Green Christmas Turkey

This year more and more people are trying to avoid the rampant consumerism of Christmas. They want to do their bit to improve the worrying environmental situation. I am totally of the opinion that we have to change our habits in order to make this festive season more ecological. If you already own an artificial tree, keep using it. If you wish to opt for a real tree, choose a tree which is organically certified.

Everyone loves to receive a lovely gift but the packaging is often damaging to the environment. For this year, choose gift wrap which is respectful of our planet. I love the Christmas decorations that can be seen all over the shops, but often home-made decorations give an extra dimension.

The Christmas meal is really the most important element for a lot of people after the Mass. To have a successful ecological Christmas, be careful about the origin and rearing of your turkey. It is more expensive, but the quality of free-range poultry, fed exclusively on organic produce, is not comparable to intensive rearing of poultry, which are treated with antibiotics.

Think of the environment because the protection of our planet is perhaps the most beautiful present that we give to someone.
