RATIONALE FOR NEW LOOK WEBSITE
In June 2021, frenchnotes sent out a questionnaire to our members looking for feedback on our site. The overwhelming response was extremely positive. We drilled down into the responses, and it quickly became clear that teachers and students were sometimes finding it difficult to find content. We then went to work with our Web designer and decided to upgrade the site completely.
This work was given a 6-week timeline, but in fact, it has taken over 16 weeks!! We now have the content divided into two main search functions:
By Theme
Leaving Cert Revision notes on French Notes are written by teachers and examiners, so you can be assured of the highest quality.
By Curriculum
French Notes offers 200+ pieces of content including PDF downloads and listening content, covering 20 different themes (see below) and covering each aspect of the Irish Junior Cert Syllabus.
DIVISION OF CONTENT
As you are no doubt aware, the French Leaving Cert and Junior Cycle can be divided into themes and as such, frenchnotes have created 20 themes in both Leaving and Junior Cycle. We then allotted our content into the various themes. After this, we decided that teachers and students might like to look for content based on curricular needs, so we created a different search facility to encompass the linguistic skills or Reading, Writing, Speaking & Listening. For ease of access, we also added a Grammar and Vocabulary section.
FRENCH NOTES RESPONDS TO IRISH EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM
Our frenchnotes are designed for the Irish Curriculum. There is a wealth of content available on the internet, but what makes French Notes useful is that we have taken away the need for teachers to trawl through content, which is often not applicable. Our content is specific to the Irish Educational system. We are a team of highly committed teachers and/or State Examiners with many years’ experience between us. We take pride in providing teachers with a comprehensive solution to French, at both Junior and Leaving Cert level.
As the website only re-launched on the 1st of October, there is still a lot of content that needs to be added. We are currently adding content daily.

INTEGRATED SEARCH ENGINE
Our Teacher plan will soon have its own integrated search engine, which will allow teachers type in the title of the revision notes needed, and it will bring you straight to the requisite notes.
ALPHABETICAL LISTING
For our Leaving Cert and Junior Cert members, the content will be categorised alphabetically, to ensure that you will be able to quickly find what you are looking for.
CHAT FUNCTION
We have also introduced a chat function to the site, where we are available to answer questions in real time. You will see the chat icon on the Home Page when we are available. However, we are also able to be contacted by email [email protected] or by sending a WhatsApp message to 087 4185908
LISTENING SECTION
Last year, we wrote and recorded over 100 audio clips for the website. Each audio clip is accompanied by a downloadable .pdf file with questions based on the listening and solutions. We currently have about 65 on the site and will be adding the remaining 35 over the next couple of months. We have started the same process for the Junior Cycle and will be uploading these as soon as they are ready.
MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTIONS
We now offer monthly subscriptions for Leaving Cert and Junior Cert members. For as little as €8 a month, students can avail of very useful content, which will build month by month. This option is not available to Teachers, as Teachers need to be able to access different material for different classes. As a Teacher, you have access to all of the Leaving Cert and Junior Cert content as well as over 50 Sample lessons and some sample lesson plans.
