How to Use our Leaving Cert Notes

Students are expected to be able to have the requisite French to answer questions on just about any topic in the world in the French Leaving Cert. Also, we never know from year to year exactly what will be on the paper, but after studying the papers over more than 20 years, we recognise trends and have divided the Leaving Cert into approximately 14 main themes which we cover extensively through the website.

In addition, you need to have a knowledge of the following broad themes for the Leaving Cert French. These can appear in any given year and be tested using any of the four skills of Reading, Writing, Speaking or Listening. We therefore advise that students go through the different sections, working on the four skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking. French Notes also contain revision notes dealing with a myriad of different themes and topics which are important for the leaving cert French Exam such as:

  • Sport
  • Social Media
  • Technology
  • Politics
  • Equality
  • Health
  • Social Issues
  • Environment
  • Economy
  • Family
  • Friends
  • French & Irish Culture
  • Europe

Most private grinds will cost the average student between €40 to €50 euro a session. This is generally one hour of tutoring. Imagine how much more you will get with that €50 – a full 365 day membership to the leading French Revision Notes site in the country. This is less than €1 a week!

We are the only Irish website specialising in French for the Irish Curriculum. In addition, over 200 schools around Ireland use French Notes’ Material, so teachers are putting their trust in our ability to provide the best possible notes in the French language, tailor-made for both the Junior & Leaving Cert cycles. Furthermore, all of the Leaving Cert Revision notes on French Notes are written by teachers and examiners, so you can be assured of the highest quality. We also add Revision Notes on subjects of interest and current affairs according as they happen, due to the fact that French Notes is a website. So you can be assured that French Notes will always be relevant and on point. We also perform detailed research prior to writing articles and there is thought behind every sentence that goes on the website. Finally, we gear our Leaving Cert French articles and sample opinion pieces toward students, giving them the reasoning behind grammatical constructions and showing them the best way of writing on their own.
